A Little History About How We Started

The vision for Teach Tamagalie was inspired during a conversation that Deborah Mossgrove, founder Teach Tamagalie, had with her friend, Dr. Veronica Sawicki, Help Madina founder,in late November 2016, when earlier that day, Veronica and her Help Madina medical team had visited the remote village of Tamagalie.

They were saddened to discover that the village had no access to medical care, and that there was no school close enough for the children to realistically attend.

 Following her visit, while Veronica stood praying in her mission accommodations, Deborah's face flashed through her mind prompting her to contact Deborah and ask if she could possibly help Tamagalie by erecting a small village school.

Deborah, who herself had been praying for a way to bless this nation, immediately accepted the invitation and began to make inquiries.  In July of 2017, Teach Tamagalie received their 501c3 non-profit status and later that year a Board of Directors was appointed. 

During that same year, Deborah took her first trip to Sierra Leone, joining her friend Veronica and their team on outreach.  That first trip was dedicated to the development of lasting relationships that have proven to be life-giving and have laid the foundation upon which the team continues to build.

Faithful servants of Christ embraced Deborah and linked arms with her to accomplish her vision, namely Veronica Sawicki, Father Henry Magbity, Father Samuel Ngobeh, and Mr Mambie Bangura. Their tireless efforts and loving support have proven to be instrumental in the project. 

The year of 2018-2019, saw the return of the Teach Tamagalie Board to Sierra Leone. This trip deepened relational bonds,  culminating in the signing of a covenant agreement for the school land to be deeded free of charge to Teach Tamagalie.
